The first blog post, how retro.

I hope to be writing these posts semi-regularly, with the hopes of eventually building it into a really useful resource for people on various gardening topics. I'm always trying to learn new things, and though we're only a couple of years into our journey here on the farm, I've already learned a ton (mainly through, many, many mistakes) and figure if I keep that up, we may just get somewhere eventually.

So, to the left, right, and above this little blank white space as I write this blog are three separate ways to do all of this with AI, which is the new thing everyone has been doing for the past couple of years. I get a lot of value from AI - I've used it to double check and optimise my planting calendar for the market garden this year, to suggest suitable pollinator partners for our ongoing mixed orchard planting, as well as walk me through the steps needed to design a functional wildlife pond.

Writing blogs with a click of a button however, seems to miss the point to me. I hope to learn (and cement the knowledge) as much from organising, writing and editing these things as I could hope to pass onto any readers who might stumble upon this weird little website. So I can't see myself ever clicking those buttons, at least I hope not. The helpful little widget is also reminding me to focus on 'keywords', and structure this all in an SEO friendly manner. Can't see that happening either, but cheers for that Future Clippy.

Instead I plan to update this blog semi-regularly, explaining what we've been doing, why we've been doing it that way, and what may be coming next, along with whatever successes, challenges and outright failures we've run into along the way. That feels like a useful thing to be writing down to me, so that's the plan.

Feel free to signup to our newsletter function and I'll get an email out whenever a new blog post is up. I'm toying with the idea of starting a Youtube channel too, though it's so hard to find the time for everything going on as it is, the thought of having to film and edit on top of that is a bit intimidating. We'll see!

Anyway, thanks for reading, whoever you may be. Have a good day and I hope you've enjoyed whatever it is you've been doing here on Ogi farm dot com.

Cheers.
